Robert Green and Emer Simic were invited to attend the AIPPI Israel 2018: 3rd International Convention on The Economy of Innovation held on April 29 – May 1, 2018 in Tel Aviv.

This unique event offered insight into the pivotal legal and business decisions faced by innovators and businesses on a daily basis, in the various stages of business development. Bob was invited as a speaker for the first round panel presentation, “The US Pharmaceutical Industry-Driving Forces-Patent And FDA.” Bob’s presentation discussed and compared pharmaceutical litigation in the U.S. Federal Courts with challenges to patent validity raised under the Inter Partes Review (“IPR”) procedure, administered by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Sharon Hausdorff (VP and Chief Patent Counsel, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.) and Kurt Karst (director, Hyman, Phelps & McNamara) were also on the panel, chaired by Ilan Miller (Head of Intellectual Property, Dexcel Phama). AIPPI Israel is part of “The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property,” the world’s leading international organization dedicated to the development and improvement of legal regimes for the protection of intellectual property.
