A lawyer experienced in both law firm and in-house practice, Don leads clients to balanced business decisions using legal skills and experience developed over 20-plus years of practice.  In doing so, Don uses skills developed as a licensing director, founder/creator of a business, and scientist. Although he has worked on a variety of technologies during his career, his true passion lies in the chemical, biochemical and genetic arts.

A significant portion of Don’s practice includes client counseling, patent application preparation and prosecution, patent portfolio analysis and development, and opinion matters, although he also applies his expertise to due diligence reviews, advising on litigation avoidance, and in negotiations.

Before law school, and after receiving his PhD in genetics, Don completed a postdoc fellowship at the California Institute of Technology.
